Terms and Conditions

Terms and conditions of sale.

The thumbnails and pictures shown on Photohistoric.com are the results of digital scans of original negatives, the scans subsequently being reduced in clarity and stamped for security.  This is done to enable their selection and purchase over the internet whilst at the same time protecting the Copyright interests of the owner(s).  All orders for these images are fulfilled by a further high quality scan (600dpi) which may or may not be cropped to improve the composition.  The resultant image file will be for an A4 sized document (eg: 10 x 8 inches/254 x 203mm).  Other sizes can be created by specific request and charged accordingly (contact via info (at) photohistoric.com).

Every effort will be made to ensure that this image is one of the highest quality possible given the age and condition of the original negative.  If this is to a standard below that which would be expected, the purchaser will be contacted before the image is electronically transmitted.  This will enable them to decide whether they wish to receive this image or not.  In the latter case a full refund will be provided by the same method as the original payment.  Once transmitted no refund will be possible.  If there is an error on transmission then the image will be re-transmitted upon request but only to the original/same email address as specified on the order.

Please note that whereas the digital image transmitted is for the purchaser to keep, the Copyright of the image remains with the photographer at all times.  This means that the image is supplied for the purchaser’s personal use only and, without specific written permission of Peter Robinson, may not be further transmitted and/or reproduced and passed to other parties whether for financial gain or other reason(s).  Furthermore this also applies to any modified digital image of the original (part or all) that may then have been reproduced by the purchaser for whatever reason.

There are some images on this site whose Copyright is not owned by Peter Robinson, and these include those Ferret-owned images reproduced within the book Memory Lanes….revisited which are also available for sale.  The Copyright rules outlined above for Peter Robinson’s images also apply to these other photographers or Copyright owners.
